Grzegorz Stępniak (CCC Polsat Polkowice) did not give any chances to his rivals and he stood on the podium for the third time, in the highest place, becoming the winner of stage 4 of the Bałtyk-Karkonosze Tour race. In the general classification of the race Tomasz Kiendyś is still leading.
During the next day of the racing along the route from the Baltic to the Karkonosze mountains the riders stood to compete in Wolsztyn, where, in stage 4 an evening criterium was held along the streets of the town. They had a distance of 54 kilometres to ride, divided into 21 laps 2600m each. In each stage there were point-awarding primes, which belonged to the points classification of the criterium. The rider who was the first to cross the finishing line after riding the whole distance of the route became the winner of the 4th criterium.
Right after the start of the peloton a very quick pace was set by the riders of the CCC Polsat Polkowice team, leading to a complete shattering of the peloton. In each of the laps they fought fiercely for the points, especially Sylwester Janiszewski was very active. He collected the biggest number of points and he won the criterium with the points.
Fighting for the final stage win the team of CCC Polsat Polkowice, from the beginning of the race dictating the race, again perfectly led out Grzegorz Stępniak, who did not give any chances to his rivals and he was the first to arrive at the finishing line of the criterium. He defeated the sprint rider of BDC MarcPol Team, Adam Wadecki and his team mate, Sylwester Janiszewski.
The yellow jersey of the leader of the race still belongs to Tomasz Kiendyś (CCC Polsat Polkowice).
