The winner of the 1st stage of Settimana Lombarda by Bergamasca is the French rider Thibaut Pinot from FDJ. Crossing the finishing line alone, he beat Simone Stortoni (Colnago-CSF Inox) and Davide Rebellin (Miche-Guerciotti). Marek Rutkiewicz (CCC Polsat Polkowice) crossed the finishing line in the 29th place.
At the beginning of the racing, during the first stage the riders had a distance of 177 km to ride, and it was not an easy route at all. It is reflected in the fact that out of 185 cyclists who started the competition 46 did not complete it. Most of them did not fit into the time limit, as a result of which they were withdrawn from the race. Unfortunately, among those withdrawn there were 3 cyclists of CCC Polsat Polkowice: Tomasz Kiendyś, Mateusz Taciak and Rafał Ratajczyk.
The other five cyclists of CCC did a good job on the route of the stage, during which the peloton got torn a lot, and small groups entered the finishing line in Castione della Presolana. In one of them 2 minutes and 13 seconds behind the winner Marek Rutkiewicz and Jacek Morajko arrived, taking respectively the 29th and 30th place. The other CCC cyclists took further places.
