BGŻ ProLiga: Marek Rutkiewicz still the leader, Witecki the second

By winning another race of the cycling BGŻ ProLiga, Mariusz Witecki (BGZ Team) advanced to the second place of the general classification of the cycle. Marek Rutkiewicz (CCC Polsat Polkowice) remains in the position of the leader.

The held last weekend two-stage cycling race – the Memorial of J.Grundman and J.Wizowski resulted in several serious changes in the general classification of the cycle.
The most important one is the significant advance of the winner of the Memorial, Mariusz Witecki from BGŻ Team, who advanced from the 7th place to the position of the vice-leader of the cycle.
Mariusz Witecki has collected in the race 51 points (50 points for winning the general classification + 1 point for the 3rd place in stage 1), which together with the points won in the previous races gave him totally 103 points. It allowed his advance to the 2nd place in the GC of BGŻ ProLiga.
Another, big change in the general classification of BGŻ ProLiga was scored by the second in the Memorial Mieszko Bulik (TC Chrobry Felt Głogów) and Łukasz Owsian (CCC Polsat Polkowice), who completed the competition in the third place.
Mieszko Bulik won 40 points for the second place in the Memorial, and he moved to the 12th place in the GC of BGŻ ProLiga, whereas Łukasz Owsian winning 35 points found himself in the 10th place eventually.

The leader of BGŻ ProLiga, Marek Rutkiewicz (CCC Polsat Polkowice), having quite a big lead in points in the general classification, did not fight for points in the Memorial of Grundman and he treated the race only as another stage of preparations for the starts in the Championships of Poland and Tour de Pologne. After participating in five races from the calendar of BGŻ ProLiga, he has in his account 281 points and he is overtaking by 178 points the second in the classification Mariusz Witecki (BGŻ Team).

Further races whose points will count for the general classification of BGŻ ProLiga, will be the Championships of Poland in road cycling. Points will be awarded to the riders both in the individual time trial and in the massed-start race. The Championships of Poland will take place in Jędrzejowo – Sędziszów from 21 to 24 June this year.
