Bodnar wins the criterium in Gdańsk.

Łukasz Bodnar from the CCC Polsat Polkowice group won, after a solo action, the criterium for the Cup of the President of Gdańsk. The second place was taken by Paweł Cieślik (Mróz Active Jet) and Sylwester Janiszewski (CCC Polsat Polkowice), finishing from the peloton, was third.

From the beginning the cyclists tried to break away, the cyclist of the Legia group Marek Cichosz was very active. The longest action, however, was performed by four cyclists: Tomasz Marczyński (CCC Polsat Polkowice), Paweł Poljański (GKD Kellys Cartusia Kartuzy), Mateusz Taciak (Mróz Active Jet) and Piotr Sztobryn (Aktio Group Mostostal Puławy), who were soon joined by a representative of Germany Grischa Janorschke (Team Nutrixxion Sparkasse). The break-away of the five cyclists was soon caught up with by the peloton, though.

The rain in Gdańsk made the cobbled surface of the route really slippery. The peloton melted lap by lap, and only the contestants who wanted to fight for the final victory remained. In such difficult conditions the cyclo-cross racers rode actively. Attacks were made among others by Marek Cichosz and also the racer of the CCC Polkowice group Sylwester Janiszewski.

Five laps before the finishing line Paweł Cieślik (Mróz Active Jet) and Łukasz Bodnar (CCC Polsat Polkowice) attacked, and Marek Cichosz tried to join them without success. A moment later an attack from the leading group was made by the cyclist of CCC Polsat Polkowice, who gained about 200 metres of advantage over Paweł Cieślik by taking the slippery turnings with bravado.

The leader of the BDC Korona Miast cycle including also the criterium in Gdańsk, won the last three laps, decisive for his winning the jerseys of the leader in the sprinters’, mountains and general classification of the Sunday classic race of Pomerania Tour and he became the winner of the race. The second place was taken by Paweł Cieślik and third was Sylwester Janiszewski (CCC Polsat Polkowice) after a finish from the not so numerous peloton.
Łukasz Bodnar strengthened himself in the leading position in the BDC Korona Miast cycle. Winning in Gdańsk was his second success in this cycle after the last week’s victory in his home place Chrząstawa Mała in the race for the Czernica District Leader’s Cup
