Bunch sprint in stage 3 of Etoile de Bessèges, active Rutkiewicz

Stage 3 of Etoile de Bessèges ended with a bunch sprint. The highest ranked “rider in orange” was Adrian Honkisz, who came in 53rd.

Pierre Rolland (Team Europcar), Frederik Backaert (Wanty-Groupe Gobert), Yoann Paillot (Team Marseille 13-KTM), Baptiste Planckaert (Roubaix-Lille Métropole), Flavien Dassonville (Auber 93) and Fabricio Ferrari (Caja Rural) were part of the breakaway of the day which was formed after almost 1,5 hour of racing. Marek Rutkiewicz was among those who tried to get away, but he was reeled in.

The leading group established 2:30 advantage and the escapees maintained it at this level for most of the stage. The peleton did their math and caught the break 1km from the finish.

After the bunch sprint Bryan Coquard (Team Europcar) claimed the stage win. He beat Giacomo Nizzolo (Trek Factory Racing) and Edward Theuns (Topsport Vlaanderen – Baloise).
