CCC Development Team in 2019 season

CCC Development Team – that will be the name of continental squad affiliated with UCI World Tour, CCC Team.

There will be 12 young riders on the roster and for some of them it will be the first season in U23 category – Piotr Wadecki, sport director of current CCC Sprandi Polkowice team explains. – For second-year juniors the transition to U23 ranks is often very hard and in many cases that’s the turning point. By establishing this development team we want to help those most talented and ambitious riders, so that transition to professional cycling is as smooth as possible.

Polish riders will form the core of the roster, but there will be some international additions to the squad as well.

We want to provide them with perfect environment to develop, so they can join the World Tour team in the future. Our development squad will be using the same equipment – Giant bikes, clothing, car fleet, etc. – as their first-division colleagues. Visually, there will be no differences between the teams – he adds.

CCC Development Team will compete in most UCI Polish and multiple international events. First training camp will take place in Spain and the team will kick off the season with Spanish and Benelux races.

The squad will be run by Tomasz Brożyna, former professional cyclist, U23 Polish National Coach and current sport director of CCC Sprandi Polkowice.

The roster will be progressively announced in the upcoming days.

As it has been announced earlier, CCC will be expanding their sponsorship in cycling to include three teams – UCI World Tour squad with Olympic gold medalist, Greg van Avermaet, women’s team led by Marianne Vos and continental CCC Development Team.
