CCC Polsat Polkowice team has trained in Spain

Since Sunday 01 6 2013 CCC Polkowice team has started Training camp in Spain, which aim is to prepare the team for the starts in season 2013.

In the first part of the winter (December), the cyclists CCC Polsat Polkowice didn’t meet in hotel LAS to train strength and endurance as usual but mostly they prepared individually. Every of the cyclists had tasks that were carried out primarily to upbringing adequate physical fitness and build strength. Not everyone, however, trained individually. Group composed of Grzegorz Stepniak, Lukasz Owsian, Jacek Morajko, Adrian Kurek and Jaroslaw Marycz flew to Spain in December where they started in good weather conditions training cycles . Marek Rutkiewicz conducted joint training with Italian Davide Rebellin and Paul Charucki with Nikolay Mikaylov in Bulgaria. The rest of the cyclists trained in Poland.

To Spain, for the first, joint team camp, the cyclists went with sporting director, Piotr Wadecki and service team. In next two weeks they want to work on planned training cycles, preparing cyclists for the first starts.

In Spain, we have to work very hard and start training mostly on building mileage base -director Peter Wadecki said. Most of the cyclists have been a lot of miles in legs, pedaled on individual workouts but here in Calpe we want to perform several common microcycles on flat routes and in the mountains gradually increasing the intensity of workouts. Training cycles have been prepared to check and use strength and endurance built in December , to be prepared to enter the cycling season 2013.

This year, the team’s training base is lokated in Calpe, situated near the beautiful town of Alicante, on the Costa Blanca. It is well known to cyclists because from several seasons in this area cyclists of CCC Polsat Polkowice, other Polish teams and other foreign teams are preparing to starts. There are many beautiful trails where you can train on completely flat terrain as well as more demanding mountain routes. And, at this time of year, there prevail comfortable thermal conditions – temperatures during the day are 12-15 ⁰ C, most of those days are sunny and windless.

The first start of the season 2013 for CCC Polsat Polkowice will be race in Argentina’s Tour de San Luis (21-27.01. 2013). Six-member team composed of Marek Rutkiewicz, Jacek Morajko, Adrian Kurek, Bartlomiej Matysiak, Jarosław Marycz and Grzegorz Stepniak will fly from Caple to Argentina directly from the training camp to take part in the race. Other cyclists will remain in Spain and will continue to prepare for the next races.

The next race of the ‘orange’ is the French stage race, the Tour Méditerranéen, which will be held from 6-10.02.2013.Group of eight cyclists will be determined by the director Robert Krajewski who will go directly from Calpe to race in France. Other cyclists will return to the Poland to ending the first training camp of CCC Polsat Polkowice.

Next camp of cyclists will also be held in Spain in the second half of February.
