CCC Sprandi Polkowice will wrap up the Italian campaign with Giro dell’Emilia (30.09, 1.HC) and Gran Premio Bruno Beghelli (1.10, 1.HC).
Both of these races are held near Bologna, on undulating route. The former is 220km long and features few climbs that may shatter the field. The longest one is located early in the race, with the top at 90km mark. The final 37km of racing will be played out on over 9-kilometer lap that includes San Luca hill (2km long). There are 4 full circuits on the menu, but the riders will tackle the climb 5 times.
There are 10 laps awaiting in Gran Premio Bruno Beghelli. They are 13,3km long and 7% climb to Zappolino is part of the loop. Finishing 7 kilometers are all flat, so both classic riders and sprinters will be in the contention for the win.
CCC Sprandi Polkowice will take on these events with 6-man lineup. It doesn’t include Italian Simone Ponzi, who is recovering after breaking his collarbone during Memorial Marco Pantani. Felix Grossschartner will replace him as the team leader, and on the climbs will be supported by the Czech duo, Jan Hirt and Michal Schlegel. The other part of the squad will be Polish, with Marcin Mrozek, Jakub Kaczmarek and Leszek Pluciński.
Both Giro dell’Emilia and Gran Premio Bruno Beghelli will be broadcast on Eurosport (either 1 or 2).
