8 riders of CCC Sprandi Polkowice will take on two one-day races in France, which are coming up this weekend – Classic Sud Ardèche – Souvenir Francis Delpech and Royal Bernard Drome Classic.
Both of the races feature undulating profiles. The former will be held in a large degree on a 60-kilometer lap, with Col de la Justice climb. It will be covered three times, before the riders enter final 50km of racing, which include two hills. 6 kilometers divide the top of the last one and the finish.
The ascents of Royal Bernard Drome Classic won’t be as long, but their frequency will be the big factor. The group should split inside the final 45km, for which 5 summits have been planned out. There is a small bump with 1,5km to go and this is where a decisive move can be made.
The same squad, which raced in Tour of Oman, is heading to France. The team will be led by Simone Ponzi, who was the highest ranked CCC Sprandi Polkowice rider in the Middle East and finished with the strongest on few occasions. He will be supported by Frantisek Sisr, who showed some solid winter form and took 14th on the last stage of Tour of Oman. The lineup will be rounded out by Patryk Stosz, Adrian Kurek, Nikolay Mihaylov, Jakub Kaczmarek, Branislau Samoilau, Michał Paluta
It will be the first time for Polkowice-based squad racing in those two French events. “Riders in orange” will be competing against two UCI World Tour (Ag2R, FDJ) and 12 Pro Continental teams.
