It will be a busy weekend for CCC Sprandi Polkowice. Outside of Czech Cycling Tour and Arctic Race of Norway the “orange squad” will also take part in two Polish one-day events.
On Saturday (August 12th) the Polkowice-based team will take on Memorial Henryka Łasaka and on Sunday (August 13th), Puchar Uzdrowisk Karpackich. Both of these races are part of UCI calendar, with 1.2 category.
The former event will be held – as in previous years – on the loop around Sucha Beskidzka, which includes one 2-kilometer hill. There are 5 circuits on the menu – 165,5 kilometers in total. The course should suit sprinters, as the race usually ends with a bunch gallop, but attackers shouldn’t be ruled out either. Maciej Paterski proved that in 2013, taking a solo win.
Puchar Uzdrowisk Karpackich, which will take place on the 179,9-kilometer route from Jedlicze to Lesko, is more undulating and it’s more likely that a smaller group arrives across the line.
Due to the fact, that CCC Sprandi Polkowice will be competing in three parallel races, it has named only 5-man roster. It will be led by Maciej Paterski and Alan Banaszek (who was added to the lineup last minute). They will be supported by Patryk Stosz, Kamil Małecki, Marcin Mrożek and Mateusz Taciak.
