Most of the lineup which had their inaugural race of 2018 season at Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana, will take part in the upcoming two Spanish one-day events – Vuelta Ciclista a la Region de Murcia (10.02, 1.1) i Clasica de Almeria (11.02, 1.HC).
The only riders of the 7-man team, who will not be competing this weekend is 10th overall in Valenciana, Amaro Antunes. Together with the team management, he decided to train in the mountains and return to racing at Vuelta a Andalucia Ruta del Sol.
Thus, CCC Sprandi Polkowice has named Jan Tratnik, Michal Schlegel, Marko Kump, Jonas Koch, Kamil Gradek and Łukasz Owsian for both, race in Murcia and Almeria.
Vuelta Ciclista a la Region de Murcia features 208-kilometer long route, which goes through some hilly terrain. Most of the obstacles are far from the finish though – Alto de Cieza – cat. 3, 68km into the race; Alto de Zarzadilla – cat. 2, 119.km; Alto Collado Bermejo – cat. 1, 146.km. The field should get shattered on those climbs and even though the final 30km are either downhill or flat we should see in the front a small group of just few riders fighting for the win.
Clasica de Almeria suits sprinters better, since all the climbing (cat. 4, 3 and 2) are all within first half of the 185-kilometer course. Mass sprint is the most likely scenario.
