Maciej Paterski was the fastest man at the line and Alan Banaszek was part of the main breakaway in the criterium in Dzierżoniów, first race on the road in Poland.
I feel good after my knee injury and back problems. I’ve recovered well and gained freshness in my legs – Maciej Paterski said after his victory. – When the breakaway was very close, I attacked and a group of riders followed me. The field stretched out and on the final lap I decided to do a long finish. All of my teammates were in the first, main group so we couldn’t take risk and wait for the final straight.
I knew, that even if I didn’t succeed, Eryk Latoń was ready and well positioned. Eventually I managed to take the win and Eryk got 2nd.
Alan Banaszek was ranked 2nd in the criterium classification, as he collected all of his points by riding in the breakaway of the day. He won the U23 classification (Piotr Brożyna was 3rd) and also finished 5th at the line.
