CCC Sprandi Polkowice set to take on world championships in TTT

CCC Sprandi Polkowice is ready to take on one of the main goals of the second part of the season – world championships in team time trial, which will be held in Innsbruck (September 23rd).

2018 worlds will be the last opportunity for professional teams to compete for medals, since next season the format of TTT will change and only National Teams will be allowed to participate. CCC Sprandi Polkowice want to showcase their power and teamwork skills for one last time and will try to better their result from 2017, when they claimed 8th place (1:44 behind gold medalists from Team Sunweb).

It will be quite a challenge since the TTT course, that goes along the Inn Valley to Innsbruck is one of the hardest, comparing to other years. It’s 62,8km long, what makes it the longest time trial in the professional teams era. It also includes 4km climb, from Kematen to Axams with a maximum gradient of 13%. It’s all downhill or flat from that point on, but legs will be extremely tired after almost one hour of pedaling and there will be no time or place for resting.

CCC Sprandi Polkowice have selected the strongest possible TTT line-up with Jan Tratnik, one of the top race against the clock specialists, Mateusz Taciak, 6-time bronze medalist in Polish National Championships ITT, Adrian Kurek, former track rider, Kamil Gradek, who has finished all four time trials this year in top 20 (was twice 3rd), Szymon Sajnok, 2-time silver medalist in U23 Polish National Chmapionships in ITT and always solid Łukasz Owsian made the team as well.

They all polished their form at Tour of Slovakia, where they won teams classification, and spend the last week prior to worlds in Austria, to get familiar with the course.

World Championships in Innsbruck will be broadcast live on Eurosport.
