UCI World Tour race will be the highlight of cycling weekend in Hamburg and CCC Sprandi Polkowice will be part of this main event.
The top professional riders will race in Cyclassics Hamburg on August 20th, which will wrap the three-day bicycle festival for amateur cyclists. 220 kilometers through the northern Germany await the pros. Due to flat course mass finish is the most likely outcome. Previous years have shown that sprinters and classic riders should be mentioned among biggest favorites. What’s interesting is the fact, that in the year 2000 the race was won by today’s sport director of CCC Sprandi Polkowice, Gabriele Missaglia.
The “orange squad” will line up at the start with some riders who are capable of finishing strong in case of a sprint – Maciej Paterski, the winner of Puchar Uzdrowisk Karpackich, Jan Tratnik, third overall in Czech Cycling Tour as well as Jonas Koch, who showcased good form in Arctic Race of Norway taking 11th place in GC.
Frantisek Sisr, Kamil Małecki and Patryk Stosz have also some sprinting skills in their DNA, while Mateusz Taciak and Łukasz Owsian will focus on helping position their leaders in the peloton.
The race will be broadcast by Eurosport 2 “live”, from 15:30 (Polish time).
