Last year the orange squad took a double victory, winning Grand Prix Doliny Baryczy and Korona Kocich Gór held the following day. This year the former event added one more day of racing, while the latter was cancelled.
The Saturday’s race (June 16th, 1.2) will be 162km long and will feature nine, 18km undulating laps around Żmigród, with a slightly uphill finish. On Sunday the riders will also be racing on a circuit and in that case there are ten, 16km laps with two 1-kilometer long hills, awaiting. CCC Sprandi Polkowice will try to use those short climbs to break the field apart.
Polkowice-based squad will approach those events with 7-man roster. The lineup for Żmigród will include fast Paweł Franczak, as well as Paweł Bernas, Patryk Stosz and Kamil Małecki, who can sprint from a shattered bunch. Łukasz Owsian, Korona Kocich Gór 2017 winner, together with Paweł Cieślik will try to make things hard for everyone on the climbs, while Kamil Gradek will use his time trial skills to lead the peloton and set high pace. In Milicz he will be replaced by another time trialist, Mateusz Taciak, so everyone gets the opportunity to spin their legs a little bit before Polish National Championships, which will be held a week from those two 1.2 races.
