After successful performance in the Netherlands and Belgium, CCC Sprandi Polkowice is heading to France to take on another 1.HC event. It’s time for Grand Prix de Denain – Porte du Hainaut (March 18th).
The “orange squad” delivered strong results in Ronde van Drenthe, Danilith Nokere Koerse and Handzame Classic. They claimed one victory and never finished outside top 10. They hope to continue that trend in France, with strong and fast lineup. Paweł Franczak, the main sprinter on the 7-man roster, was 7th in 2016 and will try to best that performance. Also Jonas Koch and Frantisek Sisr can put the hammer down in the sprint, so the team will have few options late in the race.
The rest of the squad – Paweł Bernas, Jan Tratnik, Kamil Gradek and Michał Paluta – are all well prepared, strong riders, who are capable of attacking in the most difficult parts of the race, as well as leading out their leader at the finish.
Grand Prix de Denain – Porte du Hainaut is 197,9km long. It features flat, but twisty and narrow roads, and 12 cobbled stretches. The course consists of one big, one medium and two small laps which go through north of France, near the Belgian boarder.
It’s been a sprinters’ event in the past years and should also be the case this year.
Live coverage will be available on Eurosport Player, from 15:30.
