After a short break, CCC Sprandi Polkowice returns to competition at Mazovia Tour. This race is known for its flat, windy and exceptionally fast stages.
The sporting director, Tomasz Brożyna, will have multiple options in terms of the team’s strategy. He will be able to play different cards, depending on the current situation, GC standings and riders’ sensations. Grzegorz Stępniak, Bartłomiej Matysiak, Eryk Latoń and Alan Banaszek are all solid sprinters, who are capable of winning the mass sprint. Whoever is ranked higher in GC after the short prologue will most likely be the leader of the team.
They will be supported by Nikolay Mihaylov, who won Romanian stage-race Sibiu Cycling Tour few weeks ago, and Tomasz Kiendyś. The former is an outstanding time trialist and the latter is one of the best riders at echelons. Dealing with the crosswind will be crucial for those who want to do well in the general classification.
Mazovia Tour will kick off with short, 2,5-kilometer race against the clock, on the horse race track in Warsaw Służewiec. The prologue will be followed by three flat stages, which should suit the sprinters and are expected to end with a bunch gallop.
