CCC Sprandi Polkowice returns to World Tour competition with German one-day event, Eschborn-Frankfurt – Rund um den Finanzplatz (May 1st).
The race will be held on 211-kilometer course, from Eschborn to Frankfurtu am Main. There are some hills on the menu, but in previous years, on similar route, they were not difficult enough to get rid of the sprinters. Halfway through the distance the riders will take on an ascent, which is part of a big circuit, that is set to be covered twice. Another, but this time shorter lap, awaits in the finale, on the streets on of Frankfurt (two laps).
CCC Sprandi Polkowice has named strong lineup with pure sprinter, Marko Kump and fast Jonas Koch, who can also cope with shorter climbs. Since the race usually comes down to a sprint from a shattered field, Jan Tratnik should also be in the contention. He’s been performing very well in the spring and if the pace in the finale causes the group to split, he should be up there with the strongest.
Michał Paluta and Patryk Stosz are expected to ride aggressively early on, while Amaro Antunes and Łukasz Owsian will try to make it hard for everyone on few uphill segments. For Portuguese it will also be an opportunity to get back to his racing rhythm after his health issues.
Eschborn-Frankfurt – Rund um den Finanzplatz will be broadcast live on Eurosport 2 from 14:00.
