While one part of the team is racing in Czech Republic, the other one will take on two Polish one-day events – Memorial Henryka Łasaka (August 13th) and Puchar Uzdrowisk Karpackich (August 14th).
Memorial Henryka Łasaka is carried out on the roads around Sucha Beskidzka. There are 5 circuits on the menu, with one demanding climb and another two small laps, with a punchy hill, in the finale. In total there are 167 kilometers ahead of the riders. On paper the profile should suit the climbers, but sprinters shouldn’t be ruled out. Last year the winner came from a 40-man bunch.
Two years ago the race was won by Maciej Paterski, who attacked solo and held off the chasing group.
Puchar Uzdrowisk Karpackich is also held on an undulating route and it’s hard to predict how the race will unfold. The race from Jedlicze to Rymanów Zdrój is 150km long and features multiple ascents. Small climb which will tackled 4 times in the end (including finish) will make things hard for the sprinters. Adrian Honkisz knows exactly what it takes to win there, since he’s done it twice – in 2013 and last year.
The 28-year old rider will try to go for a hat-trick, since he’s on the roster this time as well. He will be joined at the start by Paterski, Łukasz Owsian, Jarosław Marycz, Adrian Kurek, Marcin Mrożek, Mateusz Taciak and Leszek Pluciński.
Honkisz won’t be in the lineup for the Saturday’s race though, as Bartłomiej Matysiak will get his opportunity to shine on that day.
