The orange squad took on the TTT with 6-man lineup – Amaro Antunes, leader for GC, as well as Adrian Kurek, Mateusz Taciak, Kamil Gradek, Frantisek Sisr and Paweł Franczak. The stage was held in not easy weather conditions with rain and slippery roads, but it didn’t impact the riders of Polkowice-based team.
They went flat out to not only win the TTT, with the time 11:25, but they also delivered Amaro Antunes to the line, so he could move up to 4th place overall.
Today’s time trial was quite technical, since with 1,6km into the stage we began a short climb which was followed with a tricky descend. It was slightly raining so it was even more tricky. We put in a collective effort though and everyone gave his best – member of winning team, Adrian Kurek said afterwards. – We are very happy to have won, since we came to this race with TTT and GC on our minds. In addition I was also aiming prologue. Now it’s time for a short break and we’re back racing in the evening. 150km, probably in rain, await.
CCC Sprandi Polkowice bested Gazprom-Rusvelo by 9 and Elkov Author by 11 seconds.
There is still one more stage to be held on the last day of competition. In the afternoon the riders will take on an undulating course.
