Czech Cycling Tour: Taciak takes 5th place on the stage and ends in Top15 in GC

Maurits Lammertink (Cyclingteam Jo Piels) won the last stage of the Czech Cycling Tour, while Mateusz Taciak finished in 5th place. He is also the highest ranked rider in the final general classification – 15th place.

On the last, 145-kilometer, slightly hilly stage from Olomuniec to Dolany, Adrian Kurek was one of the riders that tried to break clear. He was riding in a 6-men group that gained over one minute advantage in the first part of racing. Later the breakaway got caught and new series of attacks began.

27-men group was formed in the front. One of the leading riders, Maurits Lammertink (Cyclingteam Jo Piels) decided to go solo and his brave acceleration turned out to be successful. He won the stage and moved to 5th place in the final GC. The chasing group with Mateusz Taciak arrived 8 seconds after the winner. Bronze medalist in ITT from Zawonia was 5th and ended the 4-day race in 15th place.
