Frantisek Sisr sprinted to 3rd place in stage 2 of Czech Cycling Tour, won after a solo move by Riccardo Zoidl, new GC leader.
Info: August 10h, Olomouc – Frydek Mistek, 197,7km
Stage 2 got off to a very lively start and the main escape of the day was established after countless attacks. Eventually three riders went away – Sebastian Baldauf , Riccardo Zoidl and Daniel Lehner. They quickly gained over 4-minutes over the pack.
In hilly terrain the leading group fell apart, but Zoidl kept pushing. With 30km to go he still held a solid gap of over 5 minutes. Peloton didn’t pick up the pace enough and Austrian could celebrate at the line a well deserved victory and put on GC jersey.
The main field came in 2 minutes behind and Frantisek Sisr was one of the fastest finishers, as he took 3rd place.
