Dariusz Batek third in the criterium in Dzierżoniów.

The rider of the BDC MarcPol team, Damian Walczak, became the winner of the International Cycling Criterium in Dzierżoniów. In the third position the rider of CCC Polsat Polkowice, Dariusz Batek, completed the criterium.

In extreme weather conditions, against strong gust of winds, in sleet, and what is more at a very low temperature, the riders of the elite raced during the road cycling criterium in Dzierżoniów. When the riders were negotiating subsequent laps and the weather conditions were getting worse and worse, the referees decided to shorten the distance of the criterium by its half. Eventually, the riders rode 30 rounds 1500 metres each.

Over 100 riders from all Polish professional teams, as well as riders from amateur clubs stood at the starting line. Due to unfavourable, almost winter-like weather conditions later, in the course of the race a lot of riders left the route and the struggle for the victory was completed by only 29 riders.

During the criterium the riders of the BDC team rode very actively, the riders from CCC Polsat Polkowice started the fight against them. In one of the first actions Damian Walczak and Piotr Gawroński rode out of the little peloton. It did not last long, because other riders joined them and a group of a dozen or so riders were riding in front. When Walczak attacked for the second time, another CCC rider, Bartłomiej Matysik, joined him. The peloton was getting more and more scarce, and when it was close to the finishing line the rider of BDC Damian Walczak started sprinting again and it was him who became the winner of the criterium.
At the finishing line he was better than his team-mate, Adam Wadecki and two CCC Polsat Polkowice riders Dariusz Batek and Bartek Matysiak.
