Dookoła Mazowsza: Błażej Janiaczyk on the podium.

Robert Radosz from the team of BDC Team became the winner of the 2nd stage of the ‘Dookoła Mazowsza’ race and its new leader! At the finishing line in Kozienice he defeated Krzysztof Jeżowski (BGŻ Team) and Błażej Janiaczyk (CCC Polsat Polkowice).

The second stage of the ‘Dookoła Mazowsza’ race led along the roads around Kozienice, and the cyclists had a distance of 163 kilometres to ride. The starting and finishing line was situated as usual by the Kozienice swimming centre, from where the cyclists set off to ride 4 big, 30-kilometre-long laps first, and then 3 small ones, 15 kilometres long.

From the very start the cyclists in the peloton imposed a very hard pace of the ride. Constant attacks and attempts to break away were arranged first of all by those cyclists who yesterday lost a lot in the general classification. The first ones who succeeded in breaking away were three young cyclists: Grzegorz Haba and Piotra Kirpsza (both from Aktio Group Mostostal Puławy) and Dorian Bartkiewicz (Wielkopolska). They gained a 1-minute advantage over the peloton, but in the second big lap the working hard peloton quickly eliminated the break-away.

Four cyclists started the next break-away: Piotr Krajewski (Aktio Group Mostostal Puławy), Mariusz Wiesiak (Wojsko Polskie), Mateusz Komar (BDC Team) and Jarosław Kowalczyk (Wielkopolska). The break-away has gained an advantage over the peloton of over 2 minutes, and they settled the intermediate stages on the route among themselves. 20 kilometres before the finishing line the teams of BGŻ Team and CCC Polsat Polkowice appeared at the head of the peloton, and they quickly led to eliminating the break-away. It was clear that the whole peloton would arrive at the finishing line in Kozienice, and the sprint cyclists will fight for the stage win.

The quickest to finish was a cyclist of BDC Team, Robert Radosz, who defeated Krzysztof Jeżowski (Bank BGŻ Team) and Błażej Janiaczyk (CCC Polsat Polkowice).

Robert Radosz became the new leader of the race Around Mazowsze.
