Dookoła Mazowsza: Kiendyś the fifth in the GC.

A cyclist of the BDC Team, Mateusz Komar, became the winner of the 4th stage of the Dookoła Mazowsza race. After a solitary finish he defeated at the finishing line in Szydłowiec the representative of the Polish Army Wojciech Skarżyński and his club mate Robert Radosz, who became the winner of the race.

The fourth stage of the race was held in laps around Szydłowiec. The cyclists had 10 laps to ride, each 16.6 kilometres long, which gave the total distance of 166 kilometres. Along the route there was a climb, which was passed by the cyclists 10 times, and an additional impairment was the constant rain and a low temperature.

As during the previous stages from the beginning there were in the peloton numerous attacks and attempts to break away. When the cyclists were riding the third lap a group of eight cyclists rode out of the peloton, and they quickly managed to gain an advantage of 1.5 minutes. Right behind them another group of 6 cyclists rode out of the peloton and working hard they soon caught up with the first group of escapees. At the head of the peloton a group formed of 14 cyclists, who in the next lap already had a 4-minute advantage. After riding half of the distance three cyclists attacked out of the break-away group. They were: Artur Detko (BGŻ Team), Mateusz Komar (BDC Team) and Wojciech Skarżyński (the representation of the Polish Army). The three daredevils were quickly gaining advantage, and the working hard peloton soon absorbed the remaining group. 4 minutes before the peloton Komar, Detko and Skarżyński were heading for the finishing line. Mateusz Komar (BDC Team) had retained the most power of the three escapees, and he rode away from them; crossing the finishing line alone, he became the winner of the 4th stage. Behind him, 2 minutes later, Wojciech Skarzyński crossed the finishing line whereas Artur Detka was absorbed by the peloton, which was brought to the finishing line in Szydłowiec by Robert Radosz (DBC Team).
Right before the line of the finish there was a serious crash, in which the cyclists fighting for bonuses – and thus the victory in the race – got involved: Krzysztof Jeżowski and Rudiger Selig.

The winner of the Dookoła Mazowsza race was Robert Radosz (BDC Team) who overtook Rudiger Selig (Jenatec – Cycling) by 1 second, and Krzysztofa Jeżowskiego (BGŻ Team) by 3 seconds.

Tomasz Kiendyś (CCC Polsat Polkowice) completed the race in the 5th place, 21 seconds behind the winner.
