Etoile de Bessèges: Two “riders in orange” finished in the bunch

Adrian Honkisz and Davide Rebellin finished stage 4 of Etoile de Bessèges in the peleton. Tony Gallopin (Lotto-Soudal) took the win after the uphill bunch sprint.

Thomas Voeckler (Team Europcar), Arnaud Gérard (Bretagne-Séché Environnement), Kévin Van Melsen (Wanty-Groupe Gobert), Steven Tronet (Auber 93), Rudy Barbier (Roubaix-Lille Métropole), Xandro Meurisse (An Post-ChainReaction), Thomas Vaubourzeix (Veranclassic-Ekoï) and Gaëton Pons (Wallonie-Bruxelles) spent most of the day in the breakaway. They were a part of the group that attacked soon after the start.

Their advantage never exceeded 4 minutes and were caught in the final 10 kilometers. It came down to a bunch sprint, but it was not a traditional sprint since the final 300m went uphill. Tony Gallopin (Lotto-Soudal) had the most power left in his legs and took the win. Christophe Laporte (Cofidis) and Edward Theuns (Topsport-Vlaanderen Baloise) also made the podium.

Two „riders in Orange” arrived in the peleton – Adrian Honkisz was 43rd and Davide Rebellin 93rd. Tomorrow is the last day of racing – individual time trial around Ales (12km).
