Kamil Gradek and Jan Tratnik were among the most active riders of EuroEyes Cyclassics Hamburg, while Jonas Koch finished 16th battling against top class sprinters.
Info: August 19th, Hamburg – Hamburg, 216,4km
Kamil Gradek made his presence known in this World Tour event, by getting into the day’s main escape. He was pedaling in the front with 4 other riders, establishing nearly 3-minute gap. Peloton were not going to give them too much ground though and made sure that they are always within reach.
Gradek and his fellow escapees got caught with 16km to go and that was followed by another move, launched by a bigger, around 10-man group. Jan Tratnik was one of the attackers, but that attempt was neutralized with 4km to go and it came down to a battle of sprinters.
Jonas Koch was in the mix and he finished in 16th place. Elia Vivani took the win, ahead of Arnaud Demare and Alexander Kristoff.
