Get to know Christian Delle Stelle…

Christian Delle Stelle is one of the fastest riders of CCC Sprandi Polkowice. He joined the “orange squad” after successful 2014 season during which he claimed 8 podium spots.

Christian Delle Stelle was born in Milan and this is where he also lives today. He’s 26 years old and he spent 19 of them training cycling. Like most of his compatriots he is interested in football, but riding a bike has always been a priority for him. From time to time he likes to switch two wheels to four and races go-carts. He enjoys good music and meetings with his friend, who call him Delle. The most amazing place on Earth for him is Dubai, which he describes as one of a kind. Before the race he likes to drink coffee with milk and eat rice and corn flakes with yogurt.

His first victory came when he was only 8.

It was a race which was held nearby my home. I remember it was a street circuit with a sprint finish. Growing up my favorite cyclist was Mario Cipollini, so I always wanted to be a sprinter – he says.

My first full professional season was 2012 and I opened it with Tour de San Louis in Argentina. I have good memories from that event. I remember it was extremely hot and very good riders were present at the start line, such as Alberto Contador, Levi Leipheimer, Vincenzo Nibali and Tom Boonen.

In his initial 3 years in the pro peloton, he was representing Colnago-CSF Inox (it changed names to Colnago CSF Bardiani and Bardiani Valvole – CSF Inox). In 2014 he was riding for two teams – in the first part of the year for Team Idea and in the second for MG Kvis – Wilier.

He considers victory in Slovenian GP Izola – Butan as his biggest success.

It was my first professional win after two difficult seasons. This year I would like to take part in Giro d’Italia and achieve good results on the stages. My dream is to win Milan – San Remo one day, although I know it won’t be easy.

The profile of La Primavera should fit his characteristics since he’s a fast rider, who can survive small climbs and sprint from the group.
