Vincenzo Nibali (Liquigas-Cannondale) won the fourth stage of the Giro di Padania and strengthened the lead in the general classification. The escape of day actively rode Bartłomiej Matysiak (CCC Polsat Polkowice).
The penultimate day of competition in the five-day event is a mountain section of stretch 186.3 km, which ended the nearly 10 kilometers uphill at Passo della Bocchetta.
About 20 kilometer from the peloton rode out a group of cyclists, which for most of the stage was in the lead. There was contestant the team CCC Polsat Polkowice – Bartlomiej Matysiak and also Lagana (Utensilnord), Busato (Team Idea), Schnaidt (Specialized), Mertens (Topsport) and Kern (Leopard Trek).
A group with a Polish cyclist in part had over six minutes adventure, but a situation in the peloton was controlled by best teams. Their work has led that the last of the cyclists were caught by a group of favorites on the last uphill.In the final ride, the best was Vincenzo Nibali. The third cyclist of the Tour de France defeated for four seconds experienced Davide Rebellin (Meridiana Kamen) and 25-year-old Croat – Kristijana Duraska (Adria Mobil).
Vincenzo Nibali (Liquigas-Cannondale) strengthened in the lead in the general classification of the race and overleading Riccardo Chiarini (Androni-Giocatolli) and Domenico Pozzovivo (Colnago-CSF) for 40 seconds. Marek Rutkiewicz is the highest placed rider from CCC Polsat Polkowice and occupies 22nd place with a loss to the leader 3 minutes. 26 sec.
