After 34 hours of the exhausting journey through Frankfurt, Beijing, the team of CCC Polsat composed of Marek Rutkiewicz, Jacek Morajko, Błażej Janiaczyk, Mateusz Taciak, Sylwester Janiszewski, Jose Mendes and Mariusz Witecki reached the small town of Xinning, situated at the altitude of 2700 metres above sea level, where there is a Chinese centre for the Olympic preparations.
It is here that on 1 July the prologue started the 10th edition of the nine-stage race of Tour de Qinghai Lake.
During the prologue the cyclists had a route of 52 km to ride, leading along the streets of Xinnig.
The winner of the prologue is the cyclist of the Tabriz Petrochemical team, Boris Sphilevsky. The best of the CCC Polsat Polkowice cyclists was Sylwester Janiszewski who took the 5th place.
As the sports manager of the team, Piotr Wadecki, informed : .. the participation of the cyclists of CCC Polsat Polkowice at the race in China is the last stage already of the team’s preparations for the start in Tour de Pologne. After the cyclists’ return from Asia there are consulting sessions in Zakopane and getting familiar with the most difficult stretches of this year’s TDP planned. We treat the race as training, but if an opportunity appears we will joing the fight for the best results possible.
