CCC Sprandi Polkowice is pleased to announce, that Slovenian Marko Kump will join the “orange squad” for 2018 season, having inked a 1-year deal.

Marko Kump is a very fast rider, who recently finished 2nd in Brussels Cycling Classic, only behind Arnaud Demare. He has very valuable experience gained in World Tour teams, such as Tinkoff-Saxo, Lampre, or UAE which he represents this season. He has winning mentality and multiple victories under his belt. We will make sure that he has strong support late in the race, so he can fully showcase his sprinting skills – Piotr Wadecki, DS of CCC Sprandi Polkowice explains.

We also hope that he can share his experience – how to battle with world class sprinters – with our younger riders, such as Alan Banaszek.

Marko Kump is 29-years old and has taken around 30 professional wins up to this point. Among them there are 7 stage victories in Tour of Qinghai Lake. He also took stages of Coppi e Bartali, Tour of Croatia, Tour De Slovénie and one-day Velothon Stockholm, as well as stages at Polish race Szlakiem Grodów Piastowskich and Tour of Małopolska, winning also the general classification of the latter.

Slovenian has spent four seasons racing for World Tour teams, notching multiple top 5’s: in Brussels Cycling Classic few weeks back and on the stages of BinckBank Tour/Eneco Tour, Tour of Oman, Santos Tour Down Under, Tour de Wallonie, Post Danmark Rundt – Tour of Denmark or Skoda-Tour de Luxembourg.

I’m super happy to have signed contract with CCC Sprandi Polkowice – says Marko Kump. – I’ve known the team for many years, since I’ve been racing with them a lot. Recently I was able to learn even more about the squad and all I had heard were good things. So when I spoke with sports director, Piotr Wadecki, I was immediately excited about next year.

I will do my best to justify management’s trust. I know my abilities and I always aim to win races or to help my teammates get top results. This season is not finished yet, but I’m already looking forward to the next one.

Kump will join another Slovenian on CCC Sprandi Polkowice roster, Jan Tratnik.
