Sparkassen Münsterland Giro will be the last one-day race of 2018 season for CCC Sprandi Polkowice.
German event is 198 long, starts in Coesfeld and finishes in Münster. It’s not all flat, but short bumps along the way shouldn’t break the field apart drastically. In the previous years it was mostly the sprinters who took the win here, so continuation of this trend is very likely.
CCC Sprandi Polkowice is well aware of that fact and have named a line-up with some of the fastest riders in the field. Szymon Sajnok and Alan Banaszek are up-and-coming sprinters and the latter has already claimed a top 10 spot in this race, taking 6th in 2016 edition.
Jonas Koch, who’ll be racing in front of his fellow-countrymen is also one of the cards that the team can play. He copes with undulating terrain, so in case of a split uphill, he should be up there with the first group.
The final decision on who will hold a role of the main leader and who will be the last lead-out man, will be made by sporting director at the pre-race meeting. The race itself may implement some changes into the team’s strategy, as well as sensations of the riders on that particular day.
Whoever of that trio leads the squad, he’ll be able to count on his strong teammates. Kamil Gradek, Adrian Kurek, Paweł Bernas and Michał Paluta are not afraid to fight for position in the main bunch and can set high and steady pace at the helm of the pack.
