Rund um den Finanzplatz Eschborn-Frankfurt (May 1, cat. 1.HC) will be the last race for those CCC Sprandi Polkowice riders, who will make the roster for Giro d’Italia.
We are racing in Frankfurt to put the finishing touch on riders’ form ahead of the three weak event in Italy. We don’t set any goals for ourselves for this one-day race. We just want to do one more intense ride and safely arrive to the finish. Of course if the situation on the road permits, we will try to take advantage of it and go for a good result – Piotr Wadecki, team’s DS said. – We are very satisfied with our performance in Croatia, were riders had a chance not only to work on their physical form but also mental. Those victories and dominance in the GC boos their confidence.
The race is 200km long and has a hilly course. Due to some climbing on the way it usually ends with a sprint from a shredded peloton or a small breakaway group.
Fast riders who can survive the ascents in the bunch, are among the favorites. Therefore the terrain should fit Grega Bole or Bartłomiej Matysiak, who finished 9th last year. The previous edition also saw Marek Rutkiewicz break clear and getting into the escape of the day.
