Eryk Latoń finished 4th in “Ślężański Mnich”, the official season opener in Poland.
For the most of 126-kilometer race, three-man breakaway was riding at the front of the bunch. In involved Dariusz Batek (Wibatech Fuji), Łukasz Bodnar (Verva ActiveJet) and Michael Kukrle (PSK Whirlpool Author). They gained more than 3 minutes of advantage and CCC Sprandi Polkowice-led peloton was making sure that the leading group doesn’t go all the way.
The escapees were very strong on that day and were caught on the final lap. Batek was the last man to get reeled in, as he tried a late solo move.
The race was decided in an uphill sprint, Eryk Latoń sprinted to 4th place and Paweł Franczak (Verva ActiveJet) claimed the win. He outsprinted Alois Kankovsky (PSK Whirlpool Author) and Sylwester Janiszewski (Wibatech Fuji). Also Maciej Paterski made the top 10, as he came in 8th.
