Marczyński’s 23rd place in Chrono des Nations.

The present world champion in time trial, the rider of the HTC-Highroad team, Tony Martin, became the winner of the French time trial Chrono des Nations. Tomasz Marczyński (CCC Polsat Polkowice) took the 23rd place.

At the starting line of the Chrono des Nations race, held on Sunday 16 October stood 28 outstanding time trial specialists, among others: Aleksander Winokourow (Astana), Gustav Larsson (SaxoBank-SunGard), Alex Dowsett (Sky), Stef Clement (Rabobank), Laszlo Bodrogi (Team Type 1), David Millar (Garmin-Cervélo), and the current world champion on time trial Tony Martin (HTC-Highroad). Also the champion of Poland in individual time trial, Tomasz Marczyński (CCC Polsat Polkowice) was invited to participate in the race.

The contestants were competing along the 48.5 kilometre-long route around the place called Herbiers. The quickest to ride the distance of the time trial was Tony Martin, achieving the sensational result: 56 minutes and 20 seconds. The second to arrive at the finishing line was the Swedish rider Gustav Erik Larsson (Saxo Bank-SunGard), as long as 2 minutes and 3 seconds after the winner, while the third rider, the British Alex Dowsett (Sky) was 2 minutes and 50 seconds behind the winner.
The double winner of the championship of Poland, Tomasz Marczyński, 8 minutes and a second behind the leader, took the 23rd place.
It must be added, that the winner of Chrono des Nations, Tony Martin, rode the distance with the average speed of 52 km/h.
