Mateusz Taciak before his fourth race at Tour de Pologne

Mateusz Taciak (CCC Polsat Polkowice) has been the pillar of the National Team of Poland, and his own team in the line-up for Tour de Pologne for several years. The rider from Kórnik will have ridden in our national Tour for the fourth time in his career.

Taciak is a versatile rider, who rides time trials very well and gets on well in mountains, In the past he raced in France, where he was one of the best amateurs.

“I will have ridden the Tour de Pologne for the fourth time in a row. I was appointed to the line-up for my good form – as every year, because that is too hard and important race for it to happen otherwise. I would like to thank Piotr Wadecki, that he believes in me once again. I would also like to thank our sponsors, the CCC company – Mister Dariusz Miłek, the Polsat television and Gmina Polkowice for the possibility they give me in further sporting development” said the 28-year-old rider for the portal.

“I suppose that my tasks for the 69th edition of TdP will be the same as in the previous starts. In each stage I will get into breakaways and fight for the ‘activity’ jersey, as well as help our leaders, ‘Rutek’ and ‘Huzar’ – he added.

Taciak does not look into the future and he does not focus on any particular stage. He will be trying his chance in all stretches. “I do not have any chosen stage. I my case each will look similar, whether it will be flat or in the mountains’ says the former, triple bronze medal winner of Championships of Poland in individual time trial.

As for the preparations for the race around Poland, the charge of Piotr Wadecki is not going to take part in any race any more before the target event of the season. The former rider of Mróz is now going to the mountains to train in uphill stretches there.

During this season Mateusz Taciak took, among others, the 3rd place in the Szlakiem Grodów Piastowskich race and the 4th place in the time trial during the Championships of Poland, where he lost only to the Bodnar brothers and Michał Kwiatkowski.
