Course: flat, windy
I kicked off the sprint too early, but with 50m I still thought that I had the victory in the pocket. Unfortunately two riders managed to overtake me just before the line – Franczak explained. – I was the first one to begin the sprint, but with a slightly downhill finish I couldn’t maintain that speed as long as heavier riders
The decisive move came on the second lap, when 21 riders went clear. Three CCC Sprandi Polkowice guys were involved in that attack – Kamil Gradek, Mateusz Taciak and Paweł Franczak. Since most of the teams had their strong representatives in the front, the peloton were not too eager to chase. The gap was increasing with every lap and eventually escapees held on all the way.
Despite few attempts late in the race, including Taciak’s and Gradek’s, it came down to a sprint. Franczak opened the finish as first, but just before the line Alois Kankovsky (Elkov-Author) and Sylwester Janiszewski (Wibatech Fuji 7R) jumped off his wheel to take first and second place respectively.
