The winner of the Memorial 1.etapu Grundmann and Wizowskiego was Vojtech Hacecky, Czech rider team Dukla Prague. Adrian Honkisz (CCC Polsat Polkowice) finished in second place.
During the first stage of a two-day Memorial Joseph Grundmann and George Wizowskiego, cyclists raced on the scenic route around Grodowca. The defeat had a relatively short distance of 135 km divided into five loops. Stage Route ran mostly on flat terrain with a short driveway at a premium mountain located in Kurow Little.
Immediately after take-off, 86-bed peloton, sharply set off on the race route imposing dizzying pace. The average speed of the first lap was almost 50 km / h. Despite the high speeds of the peloton always bounced group of riders looking for their chance at escaping. Unfortunately, none of the departures no longer remained at the forefront, because each guarded by a team of preventing any escape.
On the last loop, when the finish line remained few kilometers, the peloton rode larger group of riders from which sprang the four fugitives. The departure of this were: Vojtech Hacecky (Dukla Prague), Adrian Honkisz (CCC Polsat Polkowice), Kamil Zielinski (Las Vegas Power Energy Drink) and Mieszko Bulik (Team BGZ). They got a dozen or so lead over the peloton and it seemed that they will fight each other on stage win. Meanwhile, in the last kilometers, attacked Hacecky and he alone with a few seconds advantage at the finish line driven Grodowcu becoming the first winner stage and at the same time the leader of the race. He beat Adrian Honkisz and Kamil Zielinski and Mieszko Bulik, who passed the finish line in fourth.
The peloton with 20 seconds behind the stage winner, brought the term Tomasz Smolen (Team BGZ).
The race Grundmann arrived at some okrojonym composition – said after the finish of Adrian Honkisz. Other teams, however BGZ Team arrived in the strongest possible configurations and expect that they will fight hard for the win. While what came out differently.
Stage was played at a very fast pace and all round it was a place where one could successfully attack. Only in the driveway in Kurow little rwało but right behind the peloton quickly connect. It was there that tried to attack, making the climbs won the most points and won the mountains classification leader’s jersey.
I am also pleased to have won for the second space. Perhaps that would otherwise end stage play, but the attack Haceckiego (platelayer) was so strong that none of us was able to hold his wheel – finished Honkisz.
