It will be one of the toughest editions of Tour of Austria, as majority of the course will run through demanding, mountainous terrain.
Out of eight stages which await the riders, only two suit typical sprinters – the first and the last one. Everything in between is mountainous or hilly. Especially two mountain top finishes stand out, with the finish line located at Kitzbüheler Horn (stage 3, 7,6km, avg. 12,3%, max. 23%) and Großglockner (stage 5, 18km, avg. 8,3%, max. 12%). The rest of the stages are highly hilly and cat. 1 and cat. 2 are nothing unusual along the way.
CCC Sprandi Polkowice will take on the Austrian event with two leaders for the mountains, Paweł Cieślik and Michal Schlegel and they will be supported by another climber on the roster, Leszek Pluciński. Jonas Koch, Patryk Stosz, Kamil Małecki and Marko Kump are eying flat and undulating stages and breakaway opportunities.
The race will be covered live on its website: oesterreich-rundfahrt.at/livestream
