The winner of stage 2 of the Małopolski Wyścig Górski from Gdów to Jodłownik was a racer of the road cycling team of CCC Polsat Polkowice, Adam Sznitko. In a sprinters duel at the finishing line in Jodłownik he beat Błażej Janiaczyk and Jacek Morajka (both from the Mróz ActiveJet team).
Stage 2 of the Małopolski Wyścig Górski began with the presentation of the contestants in Światniki Górne and the massed start was due to the impassable roads because of the recent food expected to take place in Gdów, 30 km away. The route of the race, shortened to 126 kilometres, proved to be really demanding to the cyclists. On their way they had three climbs of category 1 in: Rozdziele, Pasierbiec and Wilkowysk. From the very beginning there were numerous attacks, which were eliminated, after all. Each of the climbs divided the peleton into groups which re-joined during the descents. The first two climbs were won by Jacek Morajko (Mróz AktiveJet) who in this way strengthened his leading position an the best climber of the race. When the peleton entered the rounds around Jodłownik and started the climb in Wilkowysku, a group of 20 cyclists broke away from the peleton, quickly gaining their advantage. In this break-away group there were among others: Łukasz Bodnar, Dariusz Batek and Adam Sznitko (CCC Polsat Polkowice), Jacek Morajko, Błażej Janiaczyk, Mateusz Taciak, Marek Rutkiewicz, Mariusz Witecki and Paweł Cieślik (all of them from Mróz), Dariusz Baranowski (Romet Weltour Dębica), Radosław Romanik (DHL Author) as well as foreign cyclists from the teams of Kalev and SP Tableware. The leader of the race – Martin Zlamalik was not present in the break-away group. After completing the 25 kilemetres long round, the advantage of the group was already several minutes, and the peleton split into smaller groups.
The break-away group of 20 cyclists arrived at the finishing line in Jodłownik with an almost 8-minute-long advantage over the shattered peleton, and in a sprinters duel Adam Sznitko decidedly beat the racers of Mróz: Błażej Janiaczyk and Jacek Morajko.
After the second stage in the general classification of the race the leader is Jacek Morajko (Mróz ActiveJet) before the Estonian Alessandro Bertuola (Kalev Chocolate Team) and the Colombian Walter Pedraza Morales (SP Tableware).
Dariusz Batek is in the 7th position in the general classification and he is the highest classified racer of the CCC Polsat Polkowice team.
On Saturday the last, third stage of the race – from Iwkowa to Biecz – will be held. Due to the bad condition of the roads (near Ryglice, Szerzyn and Tuchów bridges have been washed away) the stage has been shortened to 70 km.
