“Orange squad” for Prudential RideLondon-Surrey Classic

Prudential RideLondon-Surrey Classic, which is included in the UCI World Tour, will be the next race for CCC Sprandi Polkowice. It will be held on July 30th.

The race in London was established in 2011, as a test event ahead of the Olympic Games in the capital of Great Britain. Thus, the 183-kilometer course will go through similar terrain as the Olympic race. The profile is not flat, but it doesn’t exclude sprinters from the battle.  They have won few of the previous editions in the past and definitely can’t be overlooked. There will be 5 climbs on the menu, where the field may split and final flat 50 kilometers will decide whether the race comes back together or the breakaways stays clear all the way.

The “orange squad” will face Prudential RideLondon-Surrey Classic with a 7-man lineup. Simone Ponzi, who is one of the fastest riders on the roster and showed strong form in Sibiu Cycling Tour, will lead the squad. Jonas Koch can also sprint from smaller group, while Mateusz Taciak, Michał Paluta, Piotr Brożyna, Leszek Pluciński and Łukasz Owsian will try to shake things up with aggressive ride.

14 World Tour teams and 8 Pro Continental will take on the one-day race, which will broadcast on BBC Sport.
