After Saturday’s 2nd place claimed by Tomasz Kiendyś at Memorial Grundmanna i Wizowskiego, on Sunday Łukasz Owsian repeated that result at Korona Kocich Gór.
The 184-kilometer race was held on the 23-kilometer circuit around Trzebnica, with the finish line on the “Prababka” climb in Skotniki. The lap was tackled as many as 8 times.
“Riders in orange” were very aggressive right from the start. They were able to sent 3 representatives to the breakaway – Łukasz Owsian, Patryk Stosz and Leszek Pluciński. Another trio was present in the 12-man chasing group – Adrian Honkisz, Michał Paluta and Marcin Mrożek, but after some time they got caught by the bunch.
In the second part of the competition Łukasz Owsian decided to pull away from the escape. He went off with Artur Detko, Mateusz Komar (both Domin Sport) and Paweł Charucki (Verva ActiveJet). They collaborated well together managing to hold off the chasers. Only Detko was unable to maintain fast pace all the way to the line, so the race was decided in the 3-man battle.
Mateusz Komar had the most power left in his legs for the hard finale and grabbed a win. Łukasz Owsian finished 2nd, while Paweł Charucki took 3rd.
