The rider of CCC Polsat Polkowice, Piotr Gawroński, became the winner of the prologue that starts the competitions of riders at the 20th International Cycling RaceBałtyk – Karkonosze Tour.
At the beginning of the next stage race belonging to the cycle of the biking BGŻ ProLiga, there was a prologue held on Sunday 20 May along the streets of Kołobrzeg. It was in a form of a criterium consisting of three qualifying races, out of which 10 riders have been selected for the main course. The winner of the criterium has became automatically the first leader of the race.
The contestants rode along a route of 30 kilometres, leading along the roads of Kołobrzeg, in quite difficult, technical laps. Even during the qualifying races there was a fierce competition for the yellow jersey of the leader between the riders of BDC MarcPol and CCC Polsat Polkowice. In the final part, Piotr Gawroński (CCC Polsat Polkowice) defeated Mateusz Komar (BDC MarcPol) and Paweł Bernaś (GKS Cartusia Kartuzy).
Piotr Gawroński is going to start in the yellow jersey of the leader for the first stage of the race Bałtyk-Karkonosze Tour, from Kołobrzeg to Gryfice (105 km).
