Gregor Gazvoda (Perutnina Ptuj) won the third stage of Tour de Qinghai Lake and became its new leader. Mateusz Taciak (CCC Polsat Polkowice) fell to the third place.
The third stage of the race led from Qinghai Lake to Bird Island and its total length was 120 kilometres. Two cyclists reached the finishing line: Gregor Gazvoda (Perutnina Ptuj) and Dmitry Gruzdev (the national team of Kazakhstan). Gazvoda finished better and it is he who became the new leader, because the chase group of over 40 cyclists with Mateusz Taciak, was 2 minutes and 57 seconds behind the escapees. The third one to finish was Boris Shpilevsky (Tabriz Petrochemical Team)
From the chase group, out of the cyclists of CCC Polsat Polkowice, the best to finish was Błażej Janiaczyk, who eventually found himself in the 12th position.
Gregor Gazvoda is leading the general classification, with 4 seconds of advantage over Dmitry Gruzdevem. Mateusz Taciak fell to the third position and is 1 minute 15 seconds behind the leader, while Jacek Morajko and Mariusz Witecki are respectively in the 19th and 20th position, slightly over 2 minutes behind the leader.
The team of CCC Polsat Polkowice fell to the second place in the teams classification.
