Yuriy Metlushenko (the Representation of Ukraine), after a field sprint, became the triumpher of the 6th stage of Tour de Qinghai Lake. Mateusz Taciak (CCC Polsat Polkowice), retained the third place in the general classification.
The 6th stage of the race was a short sprinters’ duel along laps in Qilian. The stage was only 103 kilometres long. The experienced Ukrainian cyclist Metlushenko turned out to be the quickest. The 35-year-old cyclist defeated the German cyclist Robert Forster (Unitedhealthcare Pro Cycling) and the Italian one Sacha Modolo (Colnago CSF-Inox). Błażej Janiaczyk finished as the best of CCC cyclists, taking the 13th place. Sylwester Janiszewski was the 17th.
No changes in the general classification. Gregor Gazvoda (Perutnina Ptuj) is leading. The Slovenian cyclist is 4 seconds before Dmitrij Gruzdev (the Representation of Kazakhstan). Taciak is a minute and two seconds behind the leader. Marek Rutkiewicz is holding the 11th place. Jacek Morajko is 15th, and Mariusz Witecki is in the 17th position.
