Race of Solidarity and Olimpians: Latoń 6th, Kaczmarek still in the lead in U23 classification

Eryk Latoń was the 6th fastest man on Stage 4 of Race of Solidarity and the Olympians and Jakub Kaczmarek retained his youth classification jersey.

The breakaway of the day was established after few attempts, 30 kilometers into the stage. It included Mariusz Witecki (Domin Sport), Marcin Mrożek (Team Vejus) and Tom Galle (Color Code – Aquality Protect). The trio gained over 3 and half minutes of advantage and took all the points at the three intermediate sprints.

The peloton didn’t let the escapees create too much space and caught the leading group with 20 kilometers to go. In the second part of racing, there were couple of crashes in the bunch. Nobody was serious injured and most of the riders involved, managed to find their way back to the group. Among them was Kamil Zieliński, last year’s winner.

At the end it came down to a bunch sprint and Johim Ariesen (Metec – TKH Continental Cyclingteam p/b Mantel) grabbed his third victory in the race. He outsprinted Paweł Franczak (ActiveJet) and Alois Kankovsky (Whirlpool Author). Eryk Latoń finished in 6th place and was the team’s top finisher.

Jakub Kaczmarek arrived at the line with the same time as the winner, and defended his youth classification jersey.
