Last week a contract with the team of CCC Polsat Polkowice was signed by the award-winning track cyclist, bronze-medal winner of the last track cycling Europe championship – Rafał Ratajczyk.
He has been a professional cyclist since 2005 and in his rich track cycling career he has won a lot of titles. Among others he has been a world-championship title winner twice, a scratch World Cup winner, gold medal winner of the Europe championship in 2009 in middle-distance omnium in Ghent, and a vice-champion of Europe in the same discipline at the championship in Alkmaar in 2007.
During the last Europe championship which was held in Pruszków in the BGŻ Arena Rafał Ratajczyk won another medal – a bronze one – in omnium.
As a track cyclist he has also been involved in road cycling and he has taken part in road cycling races many times. In the years of 2005-2006 he was a racer of professional cycling groups, first in PSB Atlas Orbea and then in MBK-Cycles-Scout.
As the sports manager of the team Piotr Wadecki said, signing the contract with Rafał Ratajczyk has finished the process of completing the line-up of the CCC Polsat Polkowice team for the cycling season of 2011.
