For the last time this season, CCC Sprandi Polkowice will be battling for medals at the Polish Championships in road cycling. They will take part in the duo and team time trial.
The Nationals in these disciplines will be held, just like in the previous years, near Kalisz. On the first day of competition (September 30th) the riders will be facing 30-kilometer duo time trial on the course from Godziesze Wielkie, through Brzeziny and Opatówek. The 4-man teams will race against the clock on a similar, although longer (58km) route, on Sunday (October 2nd).
The time trials will be mostly flat and the turnarounds will be the only technical obstacles.
CCC Sprandi Polkowice will take on the duo TT in the same configuration as in previous seasons, when the “orange squad” was returning home with medals. Tomasz Kiendyś and Adrian Kurek will make the first and Jarosław Marycz and Bartłomiej Matysiak the second duet (Matysiak replaced Mateusz Taciak last minute, due to Taciak’s health issues).
Michał Paluta and Patryk Stosz will try to defend their title in U23. Piotr Brożyna and Alan Banaszek are also hoping for a medal-performance. Those 4 elite riders and 4 espoirs will race together in the team time trial as well (although Banaszek will be replaced by Kamil Małecki for TTT).
In 2015 CCC Sprandi Polkowice claimed as many as 7 medals – silver and bronze in elite ranks in duo TT (Kiendyś/Kurek and Marycz/Taciak), gold and bronze in U23 (Paluta/Stosz and Brożyna/Latoń), gold and bronze in elite TTT (Kiendyś/Kurek/Marycz/Taciak and Paluta/Stosz/Brożyna/Latoń) and gold in U23 TTT (Paluta/Stosz/Brożyna/Latoń).
