Rund um Koeln: Victory of Sam Bennett, Kiendyś 31st

The Easter Monday has been played one of Germany’s oldest classic race Rund um Koeln . This year’s edition of the race, which has a UCI category 1.1 has been played 98 time cycling peloton composed of 24 cycling teams had to overcome route length of 192.6 km , which ran roads around Cologne.
The race was attended by two Polish cycling teams : CCC Polsat Polkowice and Activejet Team. ” Orange ” took off in six members : Paul Charucki , Josef Cerny , Peter Gawronski , Thomas Kiendyś , Adrian Kurek and Matthew Taciak .
Competition riders during today’s start was a very dynamic process . Immediately after the start of the pack in Cologne riders imposed very high rate of driving , even though it lacked a number of attacks and attempts to departure . The race route led to the quite narrow and winding roads on steep terrain . An additional difficulty for the riders was quite strong blowing in the wind and rain showers . All these factors meant that it was not without many accidents . In one of the largest , which took place right at the beginning of the competition , many riders lay among them the ” orange ” : Paul Charucki and Piotr Gawronski .
First , an effective escape, formed after driving roughly half the distance . Three riders gained about a two-minute advantage over the peloton , but as we approach the finish line , the advantage is gradually diminished . The peloton controlled by Team Netapp – Endura did everything to the finish line in Cologne drove the peloton , who as a result of accidents was heavily depleted .
As expected, in the final rounds through the streets of Cologne at the forefront of several dozen cyclists rode from which hosted sprint duel . The fastest finished Sam Bennet ( NetApp Endura ) , who defeated Barry Markus ( Belkin Pro Cycling ) and Gerald Ciolek ( MTN – Qhubeka ) .
Thomas Kiendyś ( CCC Polsat Polkowice ) finished in 31st place.
