Maciej Paterski started the Sibiu Cycling Tour in good style. He was 5th in the short prologue which was held on the streets in Sibiu.
The short, 2,2-kilometer time trial ran on the cobblestone roads. One of the first riders who sat on the “hot seat” was Lukasz Owsian, who owned the best results after 30 minutes of rivalry. Later on Sebastian Forke (Christina Watches – Kuma) became the new leader of the stage with the result of 3 minutes and 13 seconds. Maciej Paterski had almost exactly the same time. He was slower than the German only by 0,01 s.!
Eventually even Forke didn’t make the podium. The riders who managed to do so was Olivier Pardini (Verandas Willems), Diego Rosa (Androni Giocattoli – Venezuela) and Michael Olsson (Ringeriks Kraft). Pardini was the winner. He needed 3 minutes and 11 seconds to cover the 2,2-kilometer distance, so Paterski lost 2 seconds to the fastest man of the day.
In the top30 there was four CCC Polsat Polkowice riders. Besides of Matysiak it was Nikolay Mihailov (21), Davide Rebellin (26) and Owsian (27).
